What this changes

Affiliate commissions help fund the time required to test products properly, host the site, and keep reviews free to read. Our editorial process — what we test, how we score, and what we recommend — is unaffected by these relationships.

Where we join an affiliate program, we typically do so after the review is researched and the verdict is written. We will not change a rating, soften a caveat, or remove a "not for you" segment because a vendor offers a commission.

FTC posture

In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 guidance on endorsements and the FTC's .com Disclosures guide, every page that contains affiliate links carries a disclosure within the page itself, near the relevant call to action. This page provides the consolidated, sitewide statement.
